All Fast50 Turkey winners are nominated into the Technology Fast500 EMEA program, a ranking of the fastest growing public and private technology companies throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The competition is now well established as the most objective awards of its type across 20 participating countries in EMEA.
Ranking is based on percentage of revenue growth over a five-year period, and is compiled from the winners of Deloitte's regional Fast50 competitions as well as from direct nominations and public company database research. Reaching this ranking is a significant achievement within the technology community. Companies may nominate themselves to
join a local Fast50 program from April until June each year. Technology Fast500 EMEA winners are announced in Late November each year.

The top five ranked companies in the Deloitte Technology Fast500 EMEA Ranking for 2009 include the following sectors: software, telecommunications/networking, media/entertainment and internet. Interestingly, the two highest ranked companies are both Turkish companies and the following three companies are headquartered in Belgium, Germany and the UK.
The sector winners also come from a diverse range of countries: Belgium, Germany, Israel, Norway, Turkey and the UK. Turkey and the UK both have two companies ranked as sector winners.
This year, the UK had the largest number of fastgrowing technology companies, followed closely by France. This is a reversal of last year, when France narrowly beat the UK. Turkey also climbed up the rankings with 10 more ranked companies this year compared to 2008.
